Everyday, we serve our community through several activities. Here are just a few:
One in five American children faces food insecurity — more than the populations of New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago combined. During the school week, most of these children depend on the federal free and reduced meal program their school offers. Sometimes, the meals at school are the only ones they get. When the school closes it doors on Friday afternoon, many of these children go home to empty cupboards and empty bellies for 65 hours until they return to school on Monday morning.
Who will feed them this weekend? WeDo!
The Blessings in a Backpack Team seeks to mobilize our community, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for Myron L. Powell Elementary students who might otherwise go hungry.
A “Blessings Station” is now located to the rear of the parking lot at FP Cedarville… to all in need, come and be blessed… for those who have been blessed please be a blessing unto others…
