Greetings from Haluwasa,
Sadly our world remains in a time of turmoil, with many feeling depressed and having little hope for the future. Praise God as believers we know our God is in control, and we can always be totally confident in Him and His many promises to us.
Isaiah 43:2 “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up.”
While respecting government health guidelines, we are still accomplishing ministry work with individual distancing and work at home. Without knowing precisely what we will or won’t be able to do in the near term, our plan is to be 100% ready to open camp as soon as permissible.
As you might imagine, our phone is not ringing, no camper registrations are arriving, and much needed giving support is seriously lacking. Despite a present bleak situation, we are in no way discouraged! We believe Haluwasa is a ministry God delights in and that He will surely sustain us through these troubled waters. Hopefully, sometime soon, we will again be seeing many dozens of boys and girls having a great time with us as we share the very good news of God’s love, His unfailing faithfulness, and the amazing Gospel story.
Our prayer is that you and yours will stay safe and remain confident in the Lord! Pray for those experiencing the virus, their families, for those who are caring for them and ask God to use this situation in some way to bring many people to Himself.
Please also pray for the ministry and staff of Haluwasa! We know this is a challenging time financially for many. But if you are able, it would be of monumental help if you could send a generous gift to help keep Haluwasa going. We know God will bless you for it. If we can pray for you or help you in any way, please call, email or write. Because we know His unfailing love endures forever, we can say with enthusiasm, “Onward and upward for our Lord!”
